Today:
1) Using all the activities so far, you were asked to choose 1 of the following 2 questions to answer in pairs: a) where have you seen or heard messages to use in the media, or b) why do you think people use?
2) You shared your answers with the rest of the class and handed them in.

17TH CLASS - DRUG AWARENESS LES III & BIRTHDAYS

Today:
1) We continued the Drug Awareness LES and people finished presenting their situations.
2) We caught up and celebrated birthdays in October.

16TH CLASS - HEALTH AWARENESS AND PREVENTION

Today
1) We discussed the H1N1 Virus.
2) We reviewed what we have been discussing since the beginning of the year.

14TH CLASS - DRUG AWARENESS LES II

Today:
1) We discussed how our nurse will be able to come in around November.
2) We brainstormed places people are pressured to use drugs.
3) In groups, you chose a place and created a realistic skit that included different responses that you think are useful.
4) Groups presented.
If you missed class: See your "go-to" person or myself to discuss the skits presented.

13TH CLASS - DRUG AWARENESS LES I

Today:
1) We began a new LES.
2) In groups you completed a quiz about the dangers of different drugs.
3) We discussed each drug in more detail. I was impressed with your participation and will take up your ideas and see if it is possible to have our nurse come talk to us more specifically about the biological/neurological effects from different drugs.

12TH CLASS - REACTIVE/PROACTIVE LES IV - FINAL REFLECTION

Today:
1) We reviewed the final assignment due at the beginning of next class.
2) The ladies went to the library.
3) You worked on your assignment: What are 5 ways you were reactive in the last week? What are 5 ways you were proactive in the last week? What that information, what are 3 realistic goals to set for yourself for this term?
If you missed class: You will need to complete the above assignment.
Next class Thursday, October 8 (Day 6): The assignment is due.

11TH CLASS - REACTIVE/PROACTIVE LES III
